Job Description

A mining skills centre in Pinetown needs a facilitator who can teach, assess and keep the paperwork audit-ready. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

  • Develop lesson plans, case studies and assessment guides
  • Sit in on workplace visits to confirm learners are doing real tasks
  • Give feedback on course materials so the next intake runs better
  • Moderate other assessors' decisions and sign off moderation reports
  • Assess portfolios of evidence and write clear feedback to learners
  • Load learner results onto the SETA or QCTO system

What you need

  • Good report writing and record keeping
  • Confident presenting to groups of 20 or more adults
  • Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach
  • At least 3 years of working experience in the subject field

Extra points for

  • SDF registration and WSP/ATR submission experience
  • Trade test certificate for artisan training posts

What's in it for you

  • Paid re-registration with your SETA
  • Travel allowance or company car for site training
  • Holiday breaks between intakes at colleges
  • Day-rate contracts with steady bookings

How to apply

  1. Check you meet the must-haves first; recruiters filter on those before anything else.
  2. Get these ready, because shortlisted people are asked for them straight away: assessor and moderator statements of results plus sample of a lesson plan or assessment guide you wrote.
  3. Send your details with the form below. Add one or two lines about similar work you've done.
  4. If you're shortlisted you'll hear from us within 10 working days, usually by phone.
