Learning Support Facilitator (Remedial Centre)

Pick up afternoon or evening sessions with a tutoring centre in Bloemfontein and put your subject knowledge to work. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a tutoring centre in Bloemfontein. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Write a short progress note for parents after each session
• Set practice work between sessions and check it next time
• Log hours and sessions on the agency's booking system for payment
• Work through past exam papers and marking memos with learners
• Assess a new learner's level with a short diagnostic test
• Teach one-on-one or in small groups of up to six

• Police clearance for work with minors
• Reliable internet and a quiet place to teach for online posts
• Clear, patient way of explaining ideas
• Available at least three afternoons or evenings a week
• Own transport for home tutoring posts
• Currently studying at university, or holding a degree or diploma

• Second language for learners who study in Afrikaans or isiZulu
• TEFL or TESOL certificate for English tutoring
• Remedial or learning support training

• Free training on the tutoring platform
• Work from home on online posts
• Hourly rate that rises with your ratings and results
• Flexible hours you choose each week

• Lead with your own mark in the subject, such as "Maths 89% (NSC)"; tutoring agencies filter by marks.
• Record a two-minute video explaining one tough concept; it often gets you booked faster than a CV.
