Job Description

Songs, stories, sandpits and routines: help a private pre-primary school in Bloemfontein give children a strong start. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Home base is a private pre-primary school on the Bloemfontein side of Free State. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What your day looks like

Chat to parents at drop-off and pick-up about how the day went
Run morning ring with songs, weather and counting
Help aftercare learners with homework and reading
Clean and sanitise toys, mats and tables at the end of the day
Follow the NCF daily programme and adapt it for each age group
Feed, change and settle babies and toddlers on their routine
Prepare simple, nutritious snacks and keep the kitchen hygienic

What you need

Experience caring for children in a group setting, even as a volunteer
ECD Level 4 or Level 5 qualification, or currently studying towards one
Clear Form 30 child protection check and police clearance
Paediatric first aid certificate

Helpful, not essential

Basic music, art or movement skills for group activities
Speak more than one home language of the children you'll teach
