Learning Support Facilitator (Remedial Centre)

You'll help learners who are stuck finally get it, one session at a time, for a tutoring centre in Khayelitsha. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is in Khayelitsha (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Write a short progress note for parents after each session
• Teach one-on-one or in small groups of up to six
• Work through past exam papers and marking memos with learners
• Adjust your pace for learners with ADHD, dyslexia or anxiety
• Plan sessions that target the exact topics the learner is failing
• Assess a new learner's level with a short diagnostic test
• Log hours and sessions on the agency's booking system for payment

• Clear, patient way of explaining ideas
• Available at least three afternoons or evenings a week
• Currently studying at university, or holding a degree or diploma
• Reliable internet and a quiet place to teach for online posts
• Distinction or strong pass in the subject you'll tutor
• Police clearance for work with minors

• Remedial or learning support training
• Experience with IEB as well as CAPS papers

• Hourly rate that rises with your ratings and results
• Flexible hours you choose each week
• Work from home on online posts
