Job Description

You'll run your own files from instruction to judgment at a boutique labour law practice in Newcastle. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll be based at a boutique labour law practice in Newcastle. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What you'll actually do

Draft and review contracts, shareholder agreements and legal opinions
Brief counsel and prepare them for trial and opposed motions
Manage a portfolio of litigation or advisory matters on your own
Keep trust account instructions and fee notes accurate
Supervise and train candidate attorneys and paralegals

What you need

Right of appearance in the High Court for litigation posts
Able to manage client relationships without a senior in the room
Strong drafting and legal research
Enrolled with the Legal Practice Council and holding a current Fidelity Fund certificate if you handle trust money

Nice if you have

LLM or postgraduate certificate in your specialist area
Existing client following
Experience on bank or insurer panels
