LHD Operator (Underground Scoop)

You'll operate heavy mining machines on shift at the contract mining company near Potchefstroom. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll report in Potchefstroom. Relocation is not covered for this one. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Refuel and wash the machine at the end of your shift where required
• Complete the pre-use inspection checklist for your trackless mobile machine
• Report defects and lock out the machine for the maintenance crew
• Push and level material on dumps and stockpiles with the dozer
• Load, haul and tip with the LHD from draw points to the ore pass

• Code 10 or Code 14 driver's licence
• Clear understanding of the TMM regulations under Chapter 8 of the MHSA regulations
• Able to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating day and night roster
• At least 2 years operating the machine in a mining environment
• Grade 10 at minimum, with Grade 12 strongly preferred
• Certificate of fitness from a mine medical practitioner

• Name the exact machine class and size you operated, like "100-ton rigid dump truck". Mines hire by machine.
• If you live near the mine, say so. Local applicants are often preferred under the Social and Labour Plan.
