Job Description

You'll sort out burst geysers, leaks and blockages for the residential plumbing company in Randburg. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll report in Randburg. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

The work, day to day

Work on the emergency call-out roster for after-hours bursts
Order fittings from the supplier and keep the van stocked
Take photos and complete the insurer's claim report after each geyser job
Replace burst geysers and fit vacuum breakers, drip trays and pressure control valves to SANS 10254
Install copper, PEX and PVC piping for new bathrooms and kitchens

What you need

Code 08 licence and a clean driving record
Plumbing trade test certificate or an Occupational Certificate: Plumber (NQF 4)
PIRB registration as a Licensed Plumber, so you can issue plumbing CoCs
Able to talk politely to home owners about damage and costs
Working knowledge of SANS 10252-1 and SANS 10254
Fit enough to lift a 150-litre geyser with a helper and work in tight roof spaces

Helpful, not essential

Experience with insurance repair work and claim paperwork
Drain camera and high-pressure jetting experience
