Life Sciences Teacher (Independent High School) – Immediate Start

You'll plan and teach CAPS lessons that stick at a public high school in Montague Gardens. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll report in Montague Gardens. Relocation is not covered for this one. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Meet parents to discuss progress, behaviour and support plans
• Handle classroom discipline with the school's code of conduct
• Attend staff meetings, subject meetings and district workshops
• Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind
• Plan weekly lessons against the CAPS annual teaching plan

• You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control
• Good spoken and written command of the language of teaching
• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
• Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance
• Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
• A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach

• Honours degree in your subject or in education management
• Comfortable with Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams for homework
