Job Description

Every room at this casino hotel in Montague Gardens should feel brand new, and you'll make that happen. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a casino hotel on the Montague Gardens side of Western Cape. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Inspect rooms against the checklist before release to front office.
Mix chemicals safely and store them as the MSDS sheet shows.
Restock minibars, amenities and tea trays and note what was used.
Vacuum, mop and dust rooms from top to bottom.
Hand in lost property with a written log entry.
Strip beds, make them up with fresh linen and square the corners.
Do evening turndowns with chocolates and curtain closing.

You'll need

Grade 10 or higher
Hotel, guesthouse or domestic cleaning experience
You can finish around 14 rooms in a shift
Weekend and public holiday work
Honest and trustworthy around guest belongings

Helpful, not essential

Chemical handling training
A supervisor course or time spent running a floor
