Restaurant Waitron (Steakhouse) – Fixed-Term

You'll look after tables at a wine farm restaurant in Atlantis, from the first greeting to the final bill. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Location: Atlantis, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Mix cocktails, pour draught and serve shooters to spec at the bar.
• Clear, wipe and reset tables fast during the Friday and Sunday rush.
• Check back two minutes after mains land and fix problems on the spot.
• Carry plates to the right seat without auctioning food at the table.
• Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
• Set tables, polish cutlery and glasses, and check condiments before doors open.
• Take orders on the POS tablet and read them back to avoid kitchen mistakes.

• You speak clear English and can chat easily with guests
• Quick with basic maths and card machines
• At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience
• Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus
• Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure
• Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays

• Wine knowledge from a WSET Level 1 or wine farm stint
• A second language such as isiZulu, isiXhosa or Afrikaans
• A barista course certificate or latte-art skills

• You keep your own tips, paid out daily or weekly
• Late-shift lift home within a set radius
• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Staff meal on every shift

• Walk in with your CV between 2pm and 4pm when managers have time, not during lunch or dinner service.
