Linen Room Attendant – Entry Level

Housekeeping keeps a casino hotel in Sasolburg running quietly in the background. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll report in Sasolburg. Relocation is not covered for this one. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Report broken fittings, leaks and damage to maintenance.
• Strip beds, make them up with fresh linen and square the corners.
• Mix chemicals safely and store them as the MSDS sheet shows.
• Inspect rooms against the checklist before release to front office.
• Vacuum, mop and dust rooms from top to bottom.
• Clean bathrooms, showers and toilets with the correct colour-coded cloths.
• Wash, dry and press linen and table cloths in the laundry.

• Weekend and public holiday work
• You can finish around 14 rooms in a shift
• Fit enough to lift mattresses and push trolleys all day
• Honest and trustworthy around guest belongings
• Hotel, guesthouse or domestic cleaning experience
• You work neatly and notice a hair on a pillow

• A supervisor course or time spent running a floor
• Basic first aid certificate
• Laundry machine and steam press experience

• Uniform and protective gloves supplied
• Meals on duty
• Monthly award for best room scores

• A clean, clear police clearance helps; mention it if you have a recent one.
• Write how many rooms per shift you managed at your last job; supervisors look for that number.
