Linux Systems Administrator

Patch, monitor, back up and harden systems at a financial services company in Prospecton. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a financial services company on the Prospecton side of KwaZulu-Natal.

• Apply monthly patches to servers and network devices
• Build and maintain virtual machines on Hyper-V, VMware or Azure
• Handle access requests and keep records that support POPIA compliance
• Review security logs and investigate suspicious sign-ins
• Troubleshoot load-shedding related outages and UPS failures
• Configure switches, VLANs, VPNs and firewall rules

• Willing to do standby and after-hours maintenance
• At least 3 years in systems, network or cloud administration
• Degree or diploma in IT, plus relevant certifications
• Clear change management and documentation habits
• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python

• Funded certification path

• Mention the environment size, such as "120 VMs, 14 sites, 900 users", as it tells recruiters your level.
