Linux Systems Administrator

A data centre in Umlazi needs infrastructure that just works, and someone to make it so. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Home base is a data centre on the Umlazi side of KwaZulu-Natal. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Plan hardware refreshes and licence renewals with a budget
• Manage users, groups and conditional access in Entra ID
• Review security logs and investigate suspicious sign-ins
• Troubleshoot load-shedding related outages and UPS failures
• Handle access requests and keep records that support POPIA compliance
• Monitor servers, links and firewalls and act on alerts
• Document network diagrams and change records

• Solid TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewall knowledge
• Willing to do standby and after-hours maintenance
• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python
• At least 3 years in systems, network or cloud administration
• Degree or diploma in IT, plus relevant certifications

• Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or Ansible
• ISO 27001 audit experience
• CCNA, Fortinet NSE or MikroTik certification
