Liquor Store General Assistant – Immediate Start

Shoppers in East London judge a hardware and building store by its shelves, and that is where you come in. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a hardware and building store on the East London side of Eastern Cape. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Help customers find products and carry heavy items to cars
• Pack shelves from the back, rotating older stock to the front (first in, first out)
• Face products so labels point forward and gaps are filled
• Check sell-by dates and pull expired stock for the manager
• Build promotional displays at the ends of aisles

• Grade 10 or matric
• Able to stand and lift cases all shift
• Neat appearance and punctual
• Available for weekends, month-end and public holidays
• Basic reading and maths for price checks
• Polite with customers and happy to help

• Some till or cash-handling experience
• Own transport for route merchandising jobs

• Paid training in store procedures
• Staff discount on groceries
• Chance to move into till or department roles

• Hand your CV in at the store in person, early in the week, and ask for the store or receiving manager by name.
• If you have ever sold anything, even at a school tuck shop or a family stall, list it. It shows you are comfortable with customers.
