Liquor Store General Assistant

Night fill, weekends or month-end rush, a wholesale cash-and-carry in Montague Gardens needs extra hands. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll be based at a wholesale cash-and-carry in Montague Gardens. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Pack shelves from the back, rotating older stock to the front (first in, first out)
• Help customers find products and carry heavy items to cars
• Put up price tickets and promotion shelf strips
• Visit several stores on a merchandising route and send photos of shelves
• Clean spills fast and put up wet-floor signs
• Face products so labels point forward and gaps are filled

• Polite with customers and happy to help
• Honest, since stock losses are checked closely
• Able to stand and lift cases all shift
• Basic reading and maths for price checks

• Own transport for route merchandising jobs
• Some till or cash-handling experience
• Previous shelf packing or merchandising work

• Travel allowance on merchandising routes
• Chance to move into till or department roles
• Paid training in store procedures

• Hand your CV in at the store in person, early in the week, and ask for the store or receiving manager by name.
• If you have ever sold anything, even at a school tuck shop or a family stall, list it. It shows you are comfortable with customers.
