Live-In Housekeeper and Nanny – Experienced

A family in Epping wants someone they can trust with their retired couple's cottage and their children. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at a retired couple's cottage in Epping. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Help an elderly person with meals, medication reminders and light walking
• Dust furniture, ornaments and skirting boards
• Prepare simple meals or school lunches when asked
• Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas on a weekly rotation
• Change bed linen and make beds

• Neat, organised and able to work without being supervised
• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
• Able to speak and understand basic English
• Able to handle a full-day physical routine

• Experience caring for an older person
• A driver's licence for school lifts
• Non-smoker

• Registered for UIF and COIDA by the employer
• Paid annual leave and public holidays as the law requires
• Transport money for live-out staff

• Families hire on trust, so make references your strongest part. Write the employer's name, suburb, years worked and phone number for each one.
• Ask for a written contract and to be registered for UIF. Good employers expect the question and it protects you.
