Load Planner (Road Freight)

Get off the road and into the control office at a distribution depot in Worcester. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll report in Worcester. Relocation is not covered for this one. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
• Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest
• Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
• Compile daily reports on trips completed and late deliveries

• Matric
• Knowledge of South African road freight regulations
• Good with Excel and email
• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
• Calm and decisive when things go wrong
• Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office

• Experience on a vehicle telematics platform
• Logistics or supply chain certificate
• Transport management system (TMS) experience

• Training on the fleet and tracking systems
• Growth to transport manager
• Office-based work with a steady roster

• If you drove trucks before, say so. Controllers who know the road earn quick respect from drivers.
