Lodge Housekeeper (Game Reserve) – Experienced

Housekeeping at a conference hotel in Mokopane is steady work with room to grow into supervising. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The site is in Mokopane; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers
• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries

• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Grade 10 or matric
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season

• Experience with industrial laundry machines
• Previous hotel or guesthouse housekeeping experience
• A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate

• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen

• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
• If you worked in a star-graded hotel, say which grading. It tells them the standard you already know.
