Loss Prevention Officer (Distribution Centre)

You'll catch shoplifting and stock losses at a retail distribution centre in George before they cost jobs. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

• Search staff bags at exit points according to store policy
• Walk the floor in plain clothes and watch for shoplifting behaviour
• Attend court as a witness when a case goes to trial
• Detain suspects lawfully and call SAPS, then write a statement
• Help with stock counts and point out loss hot-spots
• Record every incident with photos, times and value of goods
• Review CCTV footage to confirm suspected theft

• PSIRA registration, Grade C at least
• Good report writing
• Discreet, observant and honest
• Knowledge of lawful arrest and search under the Criminal Procedure Act

• Previous store detective experience with case outcomes
• Experience giving evidence in court
