Job Description

Shrinkage hurts every fashion retail store; in White River, you would be the one tracking it down. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The work is in White River, Mpumalanga, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

What you'll actually do

Review CCTV footage to confirm suspected theft
Share trends with the store manager each week
Search staff bags at exit points according to store policy
Record every incident with photos, times and value of goods
Walk the floor in plain clothes and watch for shoplifting behaviour
Check receiving bay deliveries against invoices and seal numbers
Attend court as a witness when a case goes to trial

You'll need

Good report writing
PSIRA registration, Grade C at least
Able to handle confrontation calmly
Matric or equivalent NQF Level 4
Available for retail hours including month-end weekends
Discreet, observant and honest

Extra points for

Previous store detective experience with case outcomes
Experience giving evidence in court
