Job Description

Good factory hands stay for years, and this industrial bakery in George trains from day one. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is an industrial bakery on the George side of Western Cape.

The work, day to day

Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card
Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product

Must-haves

Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
Available for rotating day and night shifts
Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area

Extra points for

Some basic first-aid training
A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate
