Maintenance Artisan (Shopping Centre)

The private school in Komani needs a reliable all-rounder to keep the buildings safe and looking good. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at a private school in Komani. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs
• Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas
• Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used
• Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)
• Replace tap washers, cisterns, shower heads and toilet seats

• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store
• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
• Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
• Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus

• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
• Meals on duty at hotel sites
• On-site accommodation at some estates
