Maintenance Assistant (School Grounds & Buildings) – Experienced

The private school in Kariega needs a reliable all-rounder to keep the buildings safe and looking good. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at a private school in Kariega. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs
• Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)
• Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used
• Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas
• Hang doors, fit locks and adjust sliding door rails
• Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests

• Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must
• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store

• Pool and borehole pump experience
• Experience with a work order system on a phone app
• Basic first aid certificate

• On-site accommodation at some estates
• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• Meals on duty at hotel sites
• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
