Maintenance Electrician (Night Shift)

The food processing plant in Mokopane needs a qualified electrician who can work neatly and sign off safe installations. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

The site is in Mokopane; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Read electrical layouts and mark out point positions before chasing walls
• Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
• Fault-find tripping circuits with a multimeter, insulation tester and loop tester
• Install and wire distribution boards, isolators and earth leakage units to SANS 10142-1
• Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations
• Test installations and issue Certificates of Compliance where your registration allows

• Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
• Valid Code 08 driver's licence
• Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre
• At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test

• Solar PV installation training and experience with hybrid inverters
• Master Installation Electrician registration for three-phase CoCs
• PLC and motor control experience from a factory setting

• Provident fund and group risk cover after probation
• Standby allowance when you are on the after-hours roster
• Company-issued test instruments, calibrated every year
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekends

• List two or three recent jobs with sizes, like a 60-point house rewire or a 10 kVA inverter install. It shows your level quickly.
