Maintenance Engineer (Food Manufacturing)

You'll keep the plant reliable and improve how it runs at the paper and packaging mill in Boksburg. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Boksburg-based, with most of your time spent at a paper and packaging mill. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom
• Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
• Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
• Manage shutdowns: planning, spares, contractors and safe restart
• Run vibration, thermography and oil analysis programmes on critical equipment
• Sign off modifications and keep drawings and records current
• Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor

• Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
• BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles
• Able to manage contractors and budgets
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting

• Reliability or asset management certification
• Government Certificate of Competency (Mechanical, Factories)

• ECSA registration fees and CPD paid
