Job Description

This engineering consultancy in Somerset West needs a mechanical engineer who is as comfortable on the plant floor as in the design office. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Home base is an engineering consultancy on the Somerset West side of Western Cape.

What your day looks like

Write scopes of work and compare contractor quotes
Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend
Manage shutdowns: planning, spares, contractors and safe restart
Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom
Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor
Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems

Must-haves

Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
Able to manage contractors and budgets
Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
Code 08 licence for site visits

Extra points for

Finite element analysis skills

Government Certificate of Competency (Mechanical, Factories)
