Mall Control Room Operator – Fixed-Term

Night or day, an armed response control room in Pretoria West never switches off, and neither does your focus on shift. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is in Pretoria West (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Hand over open incidents clearly at shift change
• Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date
• Monitor live CCTV feeds and zoom in on suspicious movement
• Log every event and action on the monitoring software
• Report camera faults and offline sites to the technicians

• PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
• Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts
• Matric
• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures

• Experience on a CCTV or alarm monitoring platform
• Call centre work in the past
• Speaking more than one local language

• Path to senior controller or supervisor
• Shift allowance for nights
• Training on the monitoring software

• Show you can stay alert at night. If you have done night shift before without problems, say so.
• Some companies give a typing and map test. Practise finding streets on a map quickly before the interview.
