Job Description

Month-end, year-end and audit prep all run through you at an audit and advisory firm in Harrismith. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Location: Harrismith, Free State. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance

Must-haves

Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups

Nice if you have

CA(SA) with SAICA, or AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA
Completed articles at an audit firm
