Master Technician (Premium Brand Dealership)

You'll service, diagnose and repair cars in a busy franchised passenger vehicle dealership in Kempton Park. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

The site is in Kempton Park; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Coach the apprentice on your bay through basic services
• Replace clutches, brake pads, discs, shocks and timing belts
• Diagnose engine, ABS and airbag faults with an OBD-II diagnostic scanner
• Carry out scheduled services to the manufacturer's checklist and interval
• Write clear job card notes on what you found and what you fixed
• Update control unit software when the manufacturer releases a campaign
• Keep your bay, tools and special service tools clean and counted

• At least 3 years as a qualified mechanic in a dealership or workshop
• Motor mechanic trade test certificate (Red Seal) or occupational certificate at NQF 4
• Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets
• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams
• Neat with customer vehicles: seat covers, floor mats and no grease marks
• Your own basic toolbox
