Hybrid and EV Technician (Light Vehicles) – Permanent

Fix it right the first time: that is the job at this fleet maintenance workshop in Germiston. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll report in Germiston. Relocation is not covered for this one. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Replace clutches, brake pads, discs, shocks and timing belts
• Quote extra work you find and pass it to the service advisor for approval
• Keep your bay, tools and special service tools clean and counted
• Carry out scheduled services to the manufacturer's checklist and interval
• Write clear job card notes on what you found and what you fixed
• Road test vehicles before and after repairs

• Your own basic toolbox
• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams
• Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets
• Code 08 licence so you can road test cars
• Neat with customer vehicles: seat covers, floor mats and no grease marks

• Tool allowance or tool insurance
• Pay at or above the motor industry bargaining council rates
• Manufacturer training courses paid by the dealer

• Put your trade test date and the car brands you know best at the top of your CV.
• If you hit or beat your sold-hour target, say by how much. Workshop managers love that number.
