Job Description

Straight panels, perfect colour match: that is the job at this dealership body shop in Soweto. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Location: Soweto, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Apply filler, sand and prime to a smooth, ready surface
Spray base coat and 2K clear coat in the booth
Strip damaged panels, bumpers and trims and bag the fixings
Photograph repair stages for the insurance assessor
Fit new panels using spot welding and bonding methods

Must-haves

Panel beating or spray painting trade test, or at least 4 years of proven work
Knowledge of spray booth safety and respirator use
Experience with modern waterborne or high-solids paint systems
Good colour vision and a steady hand
Able to work to insurer repair times and quality standards

Nice if you have

Aluminium and high-strength steel repair training
Measuring jig and electronic measuring experience
ADAS camera and sensor recalibration after repairs
