Good with a scan tool and a torque wrench? This fleet maintenance workshop in Kempton Park needs you in a bay. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

The site is in Kempton Park; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Keep your bay, tools and special service tools clean and counted
• Quote extra work you find and pass it to the service advisor for approval
• Coach the apprentice on your bay through basic services
• Replace clutches, brake pads, discs, shocks and timing belts
• Road test vehicles before and after repairs
• Write clear job card notes on what you found and what you fixed
• Carry out roadworthy pre-checks on lights, brakes and steering

• Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets
• Your own basic toolbox
• Neat with customer vehicles: seat covers, floor mats and no grease marks
• Motor mechanic trade test certificate (Red Seal) or occupational certificate at NQF 4
• At least 3 years as a qualified mechanic in a dealership or workshop

• Brand-specific training certificates from a manufacturer academy
• Air-conditioning regas experience with SAQCC Gas registration

• Tool allowance or tool insurance
• Productivity bonus on sold hours above target
• Pay at or above the motor industry bargaining council rates
