Job Description

Got an eye for a smooth finish? The fleet repair centre in Johannesburg CBD wants your skills in the booth or on the jig. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

The work is in Johannesburg CBD, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

What you'll actually do

Mask up vehicles properly to keep overspray off glass and trim
Pull and straighten chassis damage on a measuring jig
Cut and polish to remove dust marks and orange peel
Fit new panels using spot welding and bonding methods
Apply filler, sand and prime to a smooth, ready surface
Repair dents with hammers, dollies and a stud welder
Spray base coat and 2K clear coat in the booth

You'll need

Panel beating or spray painting trade test, or at least 4 years of proven work
Physically able to stand, bend and kneel for long periods
Knowledge of spray booth safety and respirator use
Able to work to insurer repair times and quality standards
