Job Description

An online tutoring platform in Bellville needs a patient tutor who can turn a failing mark into a pass. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll report in Bellville. Relocation is not covered for this one. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What your day looks like

Teach one-on-one or in small groups of up to six
Run live video lessons with a headset, whiteboard app and stable connection
Set practice work between sessions and check it next time
Write a short progress note for parents after each session
Adjust your pace for learners with ADHD, dyslexia or anxiety
Plan sessions that target the exact topics the learner is failing

Must-haves

Clear, patient way of explaining ideas
Distinction or strong pass in the subject you'll tutor
Available at least three afternoons or evenings a week
Police clearance for work with minors

Nice if you have

TEFL or TESOL certificate for English tutoring
Experience with IEB as well as CAPS papers
