Job Description

A tutoring centre in Lephalale needs a patient tutor who can turn a failing mark into a pass. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

The work is in Lephalale, Limpopo, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What you'll actually do

Plan sessions that target the exact topics the learner is failing
Work through past exam papers and marking memos with learners
Run live video lessons with a headset, whiteboard app and stable connection
Teach one-on-one or in small groups of up to six
Set practice work between sessions and check it next time

You'll need

Distinction or strong pass in the subject you'll tutor
Clear, patient way of explaining ideas
Currently studying at university, or holding a degree or diploma
Available at least three afternoons or evenings a week
Reliable internet and a quiet place to teach for online posts

Extra points for

Second language for learners who study in Afrikaans or isiZulu
Experience with IEB as well as CAPS papers
TEFL or TESOL certificate for English tutoring
