Job Description

An online tutoring platform in Paarl needs a patient tutor who can turn a failing mark into a pass. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at an online tutoring platform in Paarl. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What your day looks like

Set practice work between sessions and check it next time
Assess a new learner's level with a short diagnostic test
Prepare learners for control tests with short timed practice drills
Log hours and sessions on the agency's booking system for payment
Write a short progress note for parents after each session

You'll need

Distinction or strong pass in the subject you'll tutor
Available at least three afternoons or evenings a week
Clear, patient way of explaining ideas
Own transport for home tutoring posts

On offer

Hourly rate that rises with your ratings and results
Free training on the tutoring platform
Work from home on online posts

Applying, step by step

Read the "What you need" list above. If you tick most of it, go ahead and apply.
Keep copies of these ready to send: academic transcript showing your subject marks, police clearance for tutoring children plus proof of current studies or completed qualification.
Fill in the short form below with your name and a phone number you actually answer.
Keep your phone on. Shortlisted applicants are contacted by call, SMS or WhatsApp within 7 working days.

Your application joins the How2Apply talent pool for this role, and we put shortlisted people forward to employers hiring in and around Paarl.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

Before you hit apply

Lead with your own mark in the subject, such as "Maths 89% (NSC)"; tutoring agencies filter by marks.
Record a two-minute video explaining one tough concept; it often gets you booked faster than a CV.
