Job Description

Here in Cape Town CBD, a meat processing plant needs steady people who can repeat a task well for eight hours. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is in Cape Town CBD (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

What your day looks like

  • Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
  • Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card
  • Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
  • Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
  • Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
  • Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers

What you need

  • Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
  • Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
  • Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
  • Neat, reliable and on time for shift start

On offer

  • Path to machine operator after six months
  • Staff shop with discounted factory products
  • Free PPE, overalls and hairnets

Applying, step by step

  1. Check you meet the must-haves first; recruiters filter on those before anything else.
  2. Get these ready, because shortlisted people are asked for them straight away: food handler or HACCP certificate if you have one, CV listing any factory or packing work, even short-term plus your latest school results or matric certificate.
  3. Fill in the short form below with your name and a phone number you actually answer.
  4. Watch for a call or WhatsApp from How2Apply over the next 8 working days.

How to stand out

  • Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
  • Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
