Meat Processing Line Worker

Good factory hands stay for years, and this furniture assembly factory in Coega trains from day one. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Location: Coega, Eastern Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
• Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley

• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check

• Previous work in a food or FMCG factory
• A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate
• NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed

• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Staff shop with discounted factory products
• Company transport on some night shifts

• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
