Meat Processing Line Worker – Fixed-Term

Machines set the pace at this soft drink bottling plant in Fourways; you keep up and catch the faults. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Location: Fourways, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
• Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
• Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line

• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check

• Some basic first-aid training
• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine
• A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate

• Path to machine operator after six months
• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Company transport on some night shifts

• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
