Job Description

This food and beverage factory in Atlantis needs a mechanical engineer who is as comfortable on the plant floor as in the design office. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is in Atlantis (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

What you'll actually do

Hold the GMR 2.1 appointment and keep machinery safety legal on site
Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend
Write scopes of work and compare contractor quotes
Manage shutdowns: planning, spares, contractors and safe restart
Plan and track preventive maintenance in the CMMS with the artisans and planners

You'll need

Able to manage contractors and budgets
Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
Code 08 licence for site visits
Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations

Helpful, not essential

Project management certificate
Reliability or asset management certification
Government Certificate of Competency (Mechanical, Factories)
