Mechanical Engineer (GMR 2.1 Appointment)

• Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
• Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend
• Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
• Hold the GMR 2.1 appointment and keep machinery safety legal on site
• Sign off modifications and keep drawings and records current
• Run vibration, thermography and oil analysis programmes on critical equipment
• Manage shutdowns: planning, spares, contractors and safe restart

• Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
• BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles
• Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
• Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations

• Experience with SAP PM for maintenance
• Finite element analysis skills
• Project management certificate
