Mechanical Engineer (GMR 2.1 Appointment)

You'll keep the plant reliable and improve how it runs at the food and beverage factory in Worcester. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Worcester-based, with most of your time spent at a food and beverage factory. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
• Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend
• Sign off modifications and keep drawings and records current
• Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom
• Run vibration, thermography and oil analysis programmes on critical equipment
• Write scopes of work and compare contractor quotes
• Manage shutdowns: planning, spares, contractors and safe restart

• Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
• Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
• Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Able to manage contractors and budgets
• BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles

• Reliability or asset management certification

• ECSA registration fees and CPD paid
• Study support for postgraduate courses
