Job Description

Design it, build it, fix it: mechanical engineering work at the engineering consultancy in Roodepoort. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Home base is an engineering consultancy on the Roodepoort side of Gauteng.

What you'll actually do

Sign off modifications and keep drawings and records current
Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor
Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom
Write scopes of work and compare contractor quotes
Hold the GMR 2.1 appointment and keep machinery safety legal on site

What you need

Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
Code 08 licence for site visits
Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level

Nice if you have

Experience with SAP PM for maintenance
Project management certificate
