Mechanical Engineer (Plant Maintenance)

You'll keep the plant reliable and improve how it runs at the engineering consultancy in Krugersdorp. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The site is in Krugersdorp; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom
• Run vibration, thermography and oil analysis programmes on critical equipment
• Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor
• Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
• Write scopes of work and compare contractor quotes
• Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend

• Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
• Able to manage contractors and budgets
• Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
• BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles

• Project management certificate
• Finite element analysis skills
