Mechanical Engineering Technologist (Projects)

This food and beverage factory in Cape Town CBD needs a mechanical engineer who is as comfortable on the plant floor as in the design office. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is in Cape Town CBD (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

• Manage shutdowns: planning, spares, contractors and safe restart
• Hold the GMR 2.1 appointment and keep machinery safety legal on site
• Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend
• Run vibration, thermography and oil analysis programmes on critical equipment
• Plan and track preventive maintenance in the CMMS with the artisans and planners

• Able to manage contractors and budgets
• Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
• BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations

• Reliability or asset management certification
• Project management certificate
• Finite element analysis skills

• ECSA registration fees and CPD paid
• Medical aid and retirement fund contributions
• Performance bonus tied to plant availability
