Job Description

You'll keep the plant reliable and improve how it runs at the paper and packaging mill in Mossel Bay. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a paper and packaging mill on the Mossel Bay side of Western Cape.

The work, day to day

Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
Run vibration, thermography and oil analysis programmes on critical equipment
Hold the GMR 2.1 appointment and keep machinery safety legal on site
Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
Write scopes of work and compare contractor quotes

You'll need

Code 08 licence for site visits
Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
Able to manage contractors and budgets
Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
