Mechanical Engineering Technologist (Projects) – Immediate Start

Real machines, real budgets and real downtime targets at the engineering consultancy in Vanderbijlpark. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is an engineering consultancy on the Vanderbijlpark side of Gauteng. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
• Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor
• Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend
• Write scopes of work and compare contractor quotes
• Manage shutdowns: planning, spares, contractors and safe restart
• Plan and track preventive maintenance in the CMMS with the artisans and planners
• Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom

• Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
• Able to manage contractors and budgets
• Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
• Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations

• Reliability or asset management certification
• Finite element analysis skills
• Project management certificate

• Company laptop and CAD licences

• Show results in numbers: downtime cut by a percentage, savings in rand, or a project delivered on budget.
