Job Description

You'll keep the plant reliable and improve how it runs at the paper and packaging mill in Vereeniging. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a paper and packaging mill on the Vereeniging side of Gauteng.

The work, day to day

Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
Write scopes of work and compare contractor quotes
Run vibration, thermography and oil analysis programmes on critical equipment
Sign off modifications and keep drawings and records current
Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
Manage shutdowns: planning, spares, contractors and safe restart
Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor

Must-haves

Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
Able to manage contractors and budgets
BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles

Helpful, not essential

Reliability or asset management certification
Experience with SAP PM for maintenance
