Mechanised Development Miner (Trackless)

Underground, the miner sets the pace and the safety standard. This chrome and manganese mine near Ermelo needs that person. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Location: Ermelo, Mpumalanga. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Mark off drilling holes to the standard pattern and check the drilling
• Book explosives in and out of the magazine and keep the register accurate
• Do the early entry examination and make the workplace safe before the crew enters
• Test for flammable gas and check ventilation before and after blasting
• Charge up holes and connect initiation systems for the blast
• Record face advance, tons broken and support installed on the shift report

• At least 3 years underground, with at least 1 as a certificated miner
• Valid blasting certificate issued under the Mine Health and Safety Act
• No serious safety transgressions in your record
• Certificate of fitness from the mine medical station, including heat tolerance screening where required

• Housing or living-out allowance
• Underground allowance for every shift below surface
• Production bonus based on metres or square metres achieved
• Pension fund with employer contributions

• Write your blasting certificate number and date of issue near the top of the CV.
• List each mine, commodity and mining method on your CV, like "conventional stoping, platinum, 4 years".
