Midibus Driver (School Routes) – Permanent

You'll carry passengers safely around Brackenfell for a school transport operator, on time and by the timetable. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is in Brackenfell (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Handle breakdowns calmly and keep passengers safe until help arrives
• Give tourists a friendly welcome and help with luggage on charters
• Count passengers and make sure nobody stands beyond the limit
• Inspect the bus before each trip: tyres, brakes, doors, emergency exits
• Pick up and drop off schoolchildren only at approved points
• Keep the bus clean inside and report any damage

• Clean driving and criminal record
• Medically fit
• Valid Code 10 or Code 14 licence
• Valid PrDP for passengers (P)
• Patient and friendly with passengers

• Experience on mine or staff transport routes
• Fluent in more than one language
• First-aid certificate

• Split-shift allowance on staff transport routes
• Tips and trip allowances on tour charters
• Company uniform
• Paid passenger PrDP renewal

• Write "PrDP P valid until" with the date, right at the top of your CV. It is the first thing a bus operator checks.
• Mention the number of passengers you have driven and the vehicle type, like "65-seater" or "22-seater midibus".
